Acoustic plasmons in type-I Weyl semimetals

Massless chiral fermions emergent in inversion symmetry-breaking Weyl semimetals (WSMs) reside the vicinity of multiple low symmetry nodes and thus acquire strongly anisotropic dispersion. We investigate longitudinal electromagnetic modes two-component degenerate plasma relevant to realistic band structure type-I WSM. show that actual spectrum three dimensional collective density excitations TaAs family WSM is gaples due emergence acoustic plasmons corresponding out-of-phase oscillations components. These exist around [001] crystallographic direction are weakly damped, thanks large difference velocities $W_1$ $W_2$ quasiparticles when propagating along [001]. can manifest themselves as slow beatings electric potential superimposed on fast plasmonic upon charge relaxation. The revealed stimulate purely electronic superconductivity, collisionless plasmon instabilities, formation soundarons.
